Kokusai Kogyo’s science-based targets, covering all of its group companies, were validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)^※1 on September 11, 2021, as GHG emissions reduction goals in line with limiting global warming to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels.

＜Absolute emissions reduction target＞ Kokusai Kogyo commits to reduce absolute scopes 1, 2 and scope 3 business travel, employee commuting, and use of sold products GHG emissions 50% by FY2030 from a FY2019 base year. ＜Supplier engagement target＞ Kokusai Kogyo also commits that 65% of its suppliers by emissions covering purchased goods and services and capital goods, will have science-based targets by FY2026. ＜FY2019 base year emissions※2＞    Scope 1: 1,523 t-CO2e    Scope 2 (market based): 3,961 t-CO2e    Scope 3: 67,484 t-CO2e

Kokusai Kogyo has previously signaled support of the recommendations of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) created by the Financial Stability Board (FSB), and will now commence climate-related disclosure in line with the TCFD framework.
