October 29, 2020
Kokusai Kogyo Co., Ltd.
Kokusai Kogyo Co., Ltd. (Kokusai Kogyo) and PT. EXSOL Innovindo (Exsol; Headquarters: Jakarta, Indonesia; CEO: Soesetya Satya Rahardja) have concluded a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to cooperate in the field of geospatial information services.
Indonesia has five times the area of Japan, approximately 1.9 million square kilometers spread over 17,000 islands. One of President Joko Widodo’s key policies is to develop its rural areas, which includes 514 cities; but to date, only 2% of the large-scale maps necessary for such rural development have been prepared. High-accuracy positioning through satellites and remote sensing technology is indispensable in creating the nationwide map coverage, as envisioned by Indonesia’s One Map Policy, announced by its president in 2016.
Exsol has long led the mapping and surveying business in Indonesia through the sale of surveying instruments and services. On the basis of this MoU, Kokusai Kogyo will provide the latest technological services based on the Japanese positioning satellite “Quasi-zenith satellite system,” and other services, to meet the current needs of Indonesia, and expand its business through collaboration with Exsol and its existing sales network.
With this new collaboration between Kokusai Kogyo and Exsol, and through other local partnerships established across Southeast Asia, Japan Asia Group accelerates its delivery of innovative solutions for sustainable development around the world.
