Kokusai Kogyo Co., Ltd. (Kokusai Kogyo) has committed to set science-based emissions reduction targets – across the entire value chain – that are consistent with keeping global warming to 1.5℃ above pre-industrial levels in June 2020, thereby joining the “Business Ambition for 1.5℃” campaign. The campaign is led by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)
1 in partnership with the UN Global Compact (UNGC) and the We Mean Business
2 coalition.
On July 27, 2020, Kokusai Kogyo signed the “Uniting Business and Governments to Recover Better” statement, organized by UNGC and SBTi, urging governments to align their COVID-19 recovery efforts with the latest climate science.
