  • 1. As water absorbs radio waves, the surface of river channels and flooded river beds appear in black
  • 2. While undamaged infrastructure has a large surface of high luminance so it appears in bright white spots, the area affected by the tsunami has built up debris and appears in finer dots.
  • 3. The bridge support appears in a dotted line as the breams were swept away by the tsunami.
  • 4. Similar to 1., the flooded area due to the tsunami appears in black.
  • 5. This area shows how the tsunami has transformed the coastal line, with ocean waters covering much of what used to be the Takata-Matsubara.
  • 6. Similar to 2., the debris floating in the sea appears in a finely dotted pattern.
